Here’s League artist Konstantin Rudnichenko doing colored pencil anatomy studies from his home studio. Of his reference, he explains “The book is called anatomy of human figure (Mogilevtsev). It’s got just pictures and names of the muscles.”β
β
He warns, however, that “It might be pricey or hard to find, [but] you can also get Richer Anatomy or Vanderpoel. Time after time, I go back to studying anatomy and the structure of human body, and that helps to draw it better.”β
β
Konstantin is a longtime student of Leonid Gervits, whose online class “Painting from Life, Portraiture, Composition” teaches a figurative realist painting philosophy informed by Russian fine arts traditions.

Thanks for the tips, Konstantin!
