Have you ever seen a flower this large? League artist Bruna D’Alessandro created this 5ft oxeye daisy out of stainless steel and even engraved an Italian nursery rhyme into its petals!
Titled “I Write You A Flower,” this sculpture was installed in the 132nd Street Block Association Garden in Harlem as part of their 2020 “Encircle” exhibition. Here’s a video showing off the piece in more detail, courtesy of the artist:
D’Alessandro has been studying with The League for over half a decade with a special focus on Metal Sculpture, working extensively with welding masters such as Cliff Dufton and Natsuki Takauji. She has consistently exhibited in New York City, participating in seven exhibitions over the past year while continuing her arts practice.
